Concept lands £3m contract
LEADING West Country recruitment specialist Concept Staffing has won a major contract with Teignbridge District Council, South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council worth almost £3m.
The Barnstaple-based company beat 25 other recruitment companies across the UK to win a robust tender process to supply the South Devon authorities with their temporary staffing needs.
The initial three-year contract, will see Concept supply the council with a wide range of temporary workers, including administrative staff, benefit assessors, surveyors and other technically skilled staff as well as operational needs such as refuse loaders and street cleansers.
The Teignbridge Council contract is the latest in a portfolio of public sector clients currently being serviced by Concept in Devon, including major agreements with Devon County Council and Exeter City Council.
Cllr Ray Frost, Teignbridge Executive Spokesman for Housing and HR Services said:
"We are delighted to be entering this three-year temporary staffing contract with Concept Staffing. Their expertise in the field of recruitment and staffing was self-evident throughout the tender process, and we are confident we are in safe hands. The recruitment and retention of quality staff is fundamental to providing high quality, value for money services to all our customers, and we look forward to taking on the challenge of the next three years in the knowledge that we will be working alongside quality temporary staff who are committed to their role and keen to make a difference."
Concept Staffing Area Manager Noel Hoare said: "This is fantastic news for Concept, especially when you consider that we only opened our branches in Newton Abbot and Torquay 15 months ago.
"It also adds to our portfolio of public sector clients, which include major contracts with two of the biggest local authorities in the county.
"Despite forecasts of a very challenging year ahead for the recruitment industry, Concept is doing remarkably well in not only winning valuable new contracts - but in retaining contracts, too.
"As a company we are fully committed to looking after our clients, a policy that is reaping great dividends in ensuring we have successfully retained 100% of all contracts from last year."
Currently celebrating its 20th year in business, Concept operates from 15 locations throughout the region, part of the Acorn Group, and finding work for up to 5,500 temps with more than 750 different clients each week.
