Acorn appoints IT specialist

Bina KananiConcept's parent company, Acorn, has appointed a specialist consultant to help drive its IT Division's expansion plans in the South West.

Bina Kanani is a Computer Science graduate from West of England University and although only 26, she already has a successful entrepreneurial background. While studying at university she spotted a gap in the market and helped set up the successful CardiffJobs.co.uk.

Since then she has worked extensively in IT recruitment in the Midlands and has now returned home to take up the role of IT Recruitment Consultant and help drive Acorn and Concept's expansion across the West. Bina will report to IT Operations Manager Dave Sadler who is also a Computer Science graduate.

Mr Sadler said: "We're delighted to have Bina on board. We were looking to recruit another computer science graduate who'd bring with them a specialist understanding of IT and so could relate very closely to our clients and their needs. Bina has all that, along with excellent experience in IT recruitment and an outstanding entrepreneurial flare.

"Our IT Division was set up as a pilot scheme 14 months ago, focusing on the needs of both existing Acorn clients and new clients in South Wales. It proved to be very successful and is now firmly established and continuing to expand. We're now offering specialist IT recruitment to clients in the West Country, Midlands and Concept's target areas in the South West."

Lewis Fawsitt, Head of Permanent Recruitment and who heads the IT Division, said:
"Dave Sadler's extensive experience and expertise in the IT sector was key to us becoming so well-established in only our first year. Now we have followed the same blueprint and recruited Bina who also has genuine IT expertise and experience in IT recruitment, which I'm sure will be the key to our continued success."

Concept was acquired by Acorn in December 2007 and is now an integral part of the Group which consists of Acorn, Concept Staffing and Advance Personnel.

Together they place up to 5,500 people into about 750 different client companies each week.  The group also delivers training to more than 3,000 individuals and makes 1,500 permanent placements every year.
