staffing beach clean-up a good idea for Concept

A  group of Bideford and Barnstaple recruitment experts gave up their Sunday this weekend to organise a Westward Ho! beach clean-up.

Seven staff from South West recruitment specialist Concept Staffing took to the beach with their bin bags to collect marine debris and litter - and came away with a whopping 18 bags of rubbish.

The initiative was part of Concept's on-going programme of corporate social responsibility initiatives, explains Recruitment Manager Fiona Brandi.

"It was a great way of allowing the staff to get together, enjoy some healthy fresh air and put something back into the local community," added Fiona.

"Westward Ho! is far from a dirty beach, but even the best beaches can do with a little more help occasionally," said Fiona, who added the most unusual object found was a ‘cat's eye' road marking.

"Concept takes our social responsibility very seriously and staff are given an extra days annual leave to do something in their community. One of our consultants spent a day in a supermarket collecting money for St Margaret's Hospice whereas other consultants have chosen to do a sky dive for their chosen charities."    

From its Head Office location in North Devon, Concept Staffing operates from 16 locations with over 500 clients and a turnover of more than £21 million. Its Bideford branch is at 33 Mill Street and Barnstaple branch is at 2 Boutport Street.
